Welcome
to SensoryCritters.com,
take off your shoes, run your toes through the carpet, sit
back and take a deep breath and relax.
This
site has been developed to help relieve stress not bring it
on. Before you take the plunge into this deep site and get
lost for a while - even if it is during your child's nap (15
minutes - no problem!) take just a minute or two and let us
introduce our selves to you.
Parents,
Care
takers and Siblings, Thank
you for all you do - you are truly an inspiration for Bob
and myself. We have healthy children, we feel very
blessed as they are of age and two out of three are married
and we have grandchildren who are all healthy.
When
we thought about starting a new business - we decided that
it would never be a Corporate type again - creating
SensoryCritters.com has truly been a blessing for both
of us.
We
are excited each and every morning to wake up and find a new
way to create a better lap pad or blanket for your child who
has needs that aren't like everyone else's and the more
people we meet the more we want to do create better ways to
produce products your child needs.
This
started when my niece invited me to attend the 7th Family
Cafe' Conference and the Governor's Disabilities Summit in
Orlando Florida June 2-4, 2005. I made my reservations and
flew down to be with my niece and nephew during the
conference in case she or he needed me. As the events
unfolded the feeling I received in my heart and my brain
when I went to the workshops - was out of this world and I
have to tell you - that God has made this all possible by
believing in him and having faith and praying and not just
"wanting things" but really seeking our needs out and what
we are hungry for and not in food - but spiritually.
I
really feel that after having Fibromyalgia for 16 years and
Chronic Fatigue and the other issues that they want to tell
me about - all became totally in perspective when I went to
that Conference in Orlando and met each and every person and
family.
SensoryCritters.com has become a calling for both Bob
and I and we don't claim to be the know it all or even at
medium knowledge because with every book we read and every
site we check out there are 100 more of each topic to read
and seek out through the library and Internet. It is utterly
amazing that there are so many perspectives on Autism thus
the Autism Spectrum Disorder - it is kind of like
Fibromyalgia - they know this and that - but really do they
know anything? Do they know why it became "activated" or
went "dormant" or why this medicine works on some patients
but others it turns them to deep depression? I guess in this
odd sense of my history and the history my husband has
traveled with me ....
WE
understand where you stand with Autism/ASD/ Asperger's or
PDD or is it ADHD or is it ? - the only thing that really
matters is that you have a child or children with one of the
diagnosis and they are your child or your sibling or you are
their care giver that loves them and nourishes them daily
with all of your strength and energy and if you can find
comfort for them then you can find comfort for you.
Because
our first conference was in Florida in 2005 we have
dedicated to really reaching out to all Floridians. We chose
our company logo to be the Florida Gator laying back
chilling in the Sun taking a break and just relaxing. Which
is what we hope you can do when you visit
SensoryCritters.com.
With
that said, we want you to bookmark this site - and come back
when you have the time or need to find some comfort from
other parents advice or knowledge, just remember we offer
PARENT TO PARENT .... not a Doctor format. Please
use the information on this website at your own risk and

website is in no means a Medical website and does not
